Pub Cheese Burger is a unique open-face burger. Parmesan grilled sourdough bread topped with a charred hamburger patty, pub cheese, and golden grilled onions. One of my all-time favorite ways to eat a burger. This one needs a fork and knife.

– In a skillet, add oil and swirl to cook the bottom of the pan. Turn on the heat and add the sliced onions. Cook, stirring occasionally until the onions have softened. – Remove the onions from the pan and set aside in a bowl. – Butter one side of each piece of bread and place butter side down into Parmesan cheese. Set aside.

– Add the hamburgers to the skillet. Cook. – Place pub cheese on each burger patty, and place the cooked onions on top of the cheese. Put a lid on to soften the cheese and rewarm the onions. – Heat a separate skillet, place bread Parmesan side down. Cook.

– Carefully remove bread from skillet making sure to get under the cheese. – Set bread Parmesan side up on separate plates.

– Remove lid from skillet and place hamburgers on top of the bread. Serve immediately.
