Perfectly caramelized onions are easy to make, all it takes is a little bit of patience!

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 cups thinly sliced onions about 2 large onions
Heat olive oil in electric skillet set to 200 Degrees f.
Add onions and cover, cook for 20 minutes.
Stir, Cook for an additional 20 minutes covered.
Stir, remove cover and cook another 20 minutes.
As onions begin to brown stir every 5 to 10 minutes until all the onions are golden brown. This may take up to another 90 minutes.
This may take up to 2 hours depending on how many onions used. Just remember low and slow!
Add 2 tablespoons of butter if using for French onion soup.
