Ingredients
12ouncesJello mix4 – 3 ounce packages
0.5ouncesunflavored gelatin packets2 packets of Knox
12ouncessweetened condensed milk1 can
Instructions
Dissolve each box of Jello in separate bowls using only one cup of boiling water.
Place the jello into the refrigerator and allow it to cool until set.
Once the flavored jello is set, make the white gelatin.
Bring 1 ½ cups of water to a boil.
Add 1/2 cup of COLD water to a small bowl and sprinkle the gelatin powder over the water, mixing as you add the gelatin. Let it sit for 1 minute or until it has thickened.
When the gelatin has thickened, add the 1 ½ cups of boiling water and stir to combine well.
Add the sweetened condensed milk and stir.
Allow the milk mixture to cool for about 30 minutes.
While the milk mixture is cooling, remove the flavored Jell-O from the refrigerator and cut it into cubes.
Place the cubes into your serving container, I like to use my 9 X 13 glass baking dish. Spread the Jello blocks out evenly.
Pour the cooled milk mixture over the Jello cubes. Stir gently if needed.
Place the dish into the refrigerator and chill until it has set. This could take up to 4 hours.
To serve, remove the dish from the refrigerator and slice it into pieces.
Notes
If using only one flavor, both packages of flavored jello can be made in the same bowl, just make sure you only use one cup of water per package.
If you cool your condensed milk/gelatin mixture and it is too thick to pour, reheat it in a microwave on full power for 30 seconds and stir. You can do this a couple of times if necessary. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before using it so you don’t melt the Jello cubes.
Do not stir too much after adding the warm milk mixture to prevent melting the flavored cubes.
