Cheddar quick bread is a super easy bread that is made with cheddar cheese. It is a dense, savory bread that is perfect for toast, sandwiches, or serving with your favorite cold weather soups and stews. Like Red Lobster's biscuits, but bigger!
Prepare a 9 X 5 loaf pan by coating with baking spray or lightly greasing.
Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl and whisk to combine.
Add the cheddar cheese and mix until the cheese is evenly distributed.
In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, and melted butter.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
Place the batter into the prepared loaf pan, place it into the preheated oven, and bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until a knife or skewer placed into the center of the bread comes out clean.
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and mix with 1 teaspoon of dry parsley and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder and brush over the hot bread.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before removing from the pan.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Store leftover bread by wrapping tightly in plastic wrap or foil.
1/4 cup of crumbled bacon and 1 to 2 sliced green onions can be added for even more flavor.
